Where is boyd coddingtons crew now

Jo teamed up with Boyd — romantically and professionally — as he began rebuilding his business and his reputation. Good fortune came when the Coddingtons were approached about staring in a reality show about hot rod building.

He would tell his guys we are making history. They were recognized in public. They signed autographs. They were invited to start two races at the Texas Motor Speedway.

They were catapulted off the aircraft carrier, U. Nimitz and Jo flew in the cockpit with the U. S Thunderbirds. For all the worrisome and troublesome times, there were much more highlights and highpoints. After the show went off the air, Boyd was talking to representatives of the Speed Channel about doing a more instructional show than the soap-opera like theme of American Hot Rod.

Then, last Christmas, Boyd fell on the steps inside his home. He went to the hospital and got some pain meds. Almost positive the rod shop closed for good several months ago. I believe Boyd wheels are still being made and sold. The employees of Boyd's shop were slowly migrating to Foose before he took the big dirt nap.

He was going tits up. I researched this briefly a month or so ago. Apparently after Boyd's death, Jo tried running the biz but things weren't going well partially due to the lack of Boyd's design efforts so they closed.

Dan went out on his own. I don't know about the other guys. This is what I recall, I could be wrong. After the untimely death of their founder, Boyd Coddington in February, the Coddington Garage team and family tried to continue on with business as usual.

The battle they faced was too much to handle. She had rather large shoes to fill in the absence of her husband. With the team of machinists, fabricators, and paint and body guys behind her, she gave it a shot. Unfortunately, running both the hot rod shop and the wheel shop was too much for her handle on her own.

The cars and builds that are not complete at the time of closing will be moved to two new shops. Both shops are being run by former Boyd Coddington employees. Bluebear and Boyd compete to build Rat Rods. During the build, Bluebear is dismissed.

The team rebuild a 42 Woodie. Fed up of the tight deadlines, Charley leaves to join Chip Foose. Boyd views this as unforgivable disloyalty. Sean Dove asks Boyd to build a Stingray that will serve as a street car, a show car and a race car. With no one to run the body shop, Duane must supervise both shops while Boyd paints the car himself. Lee joins the team as Roy's assistant.

Boyd builds a car for the Budweiser beer company for the launch of the new Bud Light product. He converts a 36 Coupe into a Roadster. Bernt Karlsson joins the crew as manager of the body shop. Al leaves to pursue his own projects. Willie Johnstone: Bodyshop painter, returned to New Zealand and opened his own custom paint shop in Tauranga. But according to Miles's biography, she was asked to leave the company because of issues with Boyd's wife, Jo Coddington.
