What is the difference between clever and wisdom




















It is less formal than intelligent and is therefore not used in its place. Smart and clever are not synonyms as many people think, though both have similar connotations. Clever: mentally bright; having sharp or quick intelligence; able. Clever generally has something to do with intelligence. A "clever kid" is a "bright kid," a "smart kid. Cleverness is often innate, but can sometimes be learned. For most people, cleverness can be linked to IQ.

Wisdom comes with age and experience. Wisdom is the ability to not only know something, but explain that to someone much less experienced who may or may not be more clever. If you are a really smart kid and your parents aren't as "quick" or "clever" as you are, I can promise you they are much more wise, and will more often than not be correct. Again, wisdom comes from age coupled with experience.

A person who is clever may be sharp, skillful, witty and inventive, but a person who is wise possesses discernment, good judgment and discretion.

Both cleverness and wisdom are valuable attributes, but if I had to choose one over the other, I would definitely pick wisdom. The wiser a leader becomes, the more clearly that leader understands and acts upon the knowledge that in order to most effectively change a team, company, environment or the world, the leader must first change himself or herself.
