How long is sanford brown ultrasound program

It took five years for me to fight. She did not need board certification for it. She contacted a former Sanford Brown instructor to refresh her skills. So she returned to school to learn health-care coding for payments and now does that for a South Jersey emergency room. As graduation loomed in , Collins learned like the other students that Sanford Brown Trevose was not accredited so she would have to work a year before taking her boards.

My sister Lynn ended up helping me. After graduation, Collins waitressed again while taking a second job with the SugarHouse Casino and cleaning houses to pay her bills.

She finally got a job with a mobile ultrasound company in Maryland and relocated there for a year. She returned to take her boards and passed them, and now works at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. A woman with the office called her back. The only people that can forgive a federal loan is the U.

You need to go to their website. In January, Collins filed with the U. Education Department for borrower defense loan forgiveness. In mid-February, the Education Department emailed her, saying that it was reviewing her application. Skip to content Share Icon.

Facebook Logo. Link Icon. I canceled classes but in instead they kept me enrolled and kept the loans that were supposed of been canceled. There is no way a school that should charge so much for classes that are not accredited or no chance of a real job. You are stuck with loans that you will never get to pay off because of the never ending interest rate. Good luck they should be paying for you to go back to school.

We advertised the sonography programs to get prospective students to visit the campus, and then it was my job to switch you to the medical assisting program. You need a 4 year college degree and you need to already be working as a medical professional.

Then I showed you the light at the end of the tunnel. Just complete the medical assisting program then you can apply for the sonography program. I got tired of scamming people and completely got out of the business.

I unfortunately fell for this scam when visiting the campus in Manhattan. I initially was interested in sonography, but was told exactly what you stated.

Sorry to hear about all the scamming that went on at Sanford Brown. I, too, must have been scammed because I did not qualify for the sonography program on some mathematical based test they gave. Took the medical billing and coding 9 month course instead.

Years later I tried to transfer what should have been viable credits to the University of Houston which they did not recognize. I will i was down the same with sanford brown in granite city illonois owed 10, Defaulted on it because i couldnt find a job in that field.

They took all of my grant and i had to get a loan. Who can help us how can this school get away with this? Email me as well I want to sue them lexisautumn gmail.

Anyone interested in filing a lawsuit if we get enough people to do a class action suit we have a chance I was thrown out of the Jacksonville program by the animal they employed as director.

This is ridiculous. If there is a class action suit against them please let me know!! I recently looked into continuing my education in health administration only to learn that my credits are not transferable! I would have to start all over again and still pay on the 15k I already have in federal student loans.

Why do I have to pay loans on a college that told me my credits would transfer but they do not?! All that hard work and my transcripts are useless. St Peters. That was a must further drive for me so I then started to weigh my options.

In I then decided to go to business for myself and I then enrolled to Sanford Brown of Fenton……they placed me in a program that I did not want to go into. I caught that one quickly. I withdrew due to medical issues for a short period of time and came back…. I graduate with my associate degree in business administration and management. Career services….. I do not know why or how they had a job.

However they told me that I need to come back to obtain my bachelor degree in business administration in order to make a difference in the workforce. I graduated in and to this day I have not had a job in my field of study. This was definitely a waste of time and energy. I went to the school in Tampa, Of. I tried to find work for years afterwards but never got hired anywhere else, along with no help from the school with the many, many times I called asking the to help with job placement.

Although I am disabled now; I still wanted to go back to school. What can I for now?? I was informed that I would first have to take their Medical Assistant course first, and then the Sonography course. I was the top of my class in both course and was made all of these promises by the staff that I would have a great career in no-time. My husband had transferred all of his veteran GI Bill benefits to me so that I could go to school. It was truly a horrible scam! If anyone knows of any form of action that we can take, please let me know.

Thank You. SBI kicked me out of their Ultrasound programs multiple times for ridiculous reasons and attempted to get me enrolled back with them.

Its very depressing and it is causing a major stress on my family now because I cant get nothing from a car or house due to my credit. I am so pissed with this damn school!

Just to be in debt thousands of dollars! I graduated in and was never able to find a a job because as soon as they found out what school I came from. They fed us nothing but lies just to get us to sign up! They never put any effort into job placement or career counseling like they said they would, AND they lied about our credits being transferred!

This is one of the reasons why I started this school was to transfer mycredits and continue to become an RN! Now I have to start all over! My classmates I went to school with are in the same boat, never got a job as an MA or pharmacy tech the field we went to school for I went to school in Houston tx. If anyone know how to start a class action suit against these people or if anyone is in the process of one of love to join! This is very unfair!!

I also went to the one Houston…. Credits did not transfer at all. When I went to enroll in college to continue my education for RN they laughed when I told them I wanted to transfer my credits. I attended and graduated SB in I talked to my supervisor about the paperwork needed for the loan forgiveness program and told her about the school shutting down.

She had a look of worry on her face and said she would have to forward the paperwork to HR and said they will need to check and see how this will affect my credentialing. Will this shutdown have any affect on my current certifications and licensing? I cried the first time I saw the labs. I worked hard pregnant and with medical problems. I am not 87 and a half thousand dollars in debt because of this and I am contacting a couple of law firms in the Orlando area to see what I can do about bringing a civil suit against them.

It is true that we have to take responsibility for our own actions but the school also has to take responsibility for their actions as well. I was blessed that I was able to find a job on my own because career services would not help you, even though they did promise to at least assist you-Big Lie. But a school should be held accountable for making false promises, when I first spoke to a admission adviser they told me that they were accredited, which ended up being a big lie because when I went to different schools in the area they told me without hesitation that they did not accept any credits from this school.

So I ended up having to go to a community college where I had to start over from scratch with many of the basic classes that I had already taken. I graduated in from SBC in Virginia, and in the first three years I struggled to find anyone who was willing to hire me within my field, which made me look for work outside my field and ended up getting minimum wage jobs just so that I could pay my school loans, because when I was unemployed I had to go into deferment in which my interest got capitalized.

Those first three years were a nightmare, but for those who are probably stuck in this same situation right now like I was; I just want to tell you have hope and know that after the storm the calm will come.

I will pray that anyone going through the same situation that I went through those first few years after college, will find an answer and solution to their problems. I have also contacted a Borrower Defense that are helping many students that attended Sanford Brown College and you can contact them at 1 I recommend anyone that attended this school to contact them in order for them to initiate an investigation. The problem here for me is not about a college degree that ended up being worthless, but if you want to look at the humane side of this they took advantage of many people that probably did not know the difference of what schools were accredited and because of that many ended up with a student loan that they may not even have the means to pay for with interest accumulating every month and being that the degrees are expensive for no reason compared to a public school , we must stand up and raise our voice against something that is NOT right.

Please everyone contact them to make this case stronger! I as well attened this so called great credible shit hole…if you figure out how to start a civil lawsuit email me bootslady gmail. I was a Sanford Brown Student from to I was not able to finish the program due to a death in the family and medical issues.

I tried getting my transcipts from the school but I an being told I owe them for withdrawing from the school. I need to know how I can get my transcripts from them! I have contacted the Attorney Generals office and spoke with them about the school and they said that the school has been on their radar since They told me to get as many people as I can to go to MyFloridaLegal.

Then click on general complaint and fill out the form. They took me for 87, I am reaching out to as many students as I can and would appericiate it if you would help me to pass this information along. The more people we get the better our chances are at having a case. My email is carnley. Before completion, the school informed me the program I was attending does not have the proper accreditation for me to obtain national certification to become a registered technologist after the school is completed.

I was always told if I considered to drop the program, I would still be liable for all costs of the loans used for the program. Due to not being accredited and for me not being able to obtain certification, I know have these school loans bringing me more and more in debt as time goes on and unable to obtain a job due to the failure of information from the school prior to signing up for the program.

Thank you. What about all of the Student that Used the GI-bill… robbing out Vets on a leg up after putting their lives on the line. Not able to transfer credits?

Please let me know if you find the answer to this, i went on the same year, no luck with a job, no credits to transfer, and had to start school all over again. I went there ages ago and have nothing to show for it. We should figure out how to do a class-action suit.

O I totally agree I was there from to and I did the nursing program and a lot of the places I went to interview at told me to my face they would not hire me because of going to that school even though I got my diploma. I graduated from Brown College in Minneapolis back in from their Radio and Broadcasting program.

I obtained the associates degree, not the certification program. I drank the kool-aid big time. When I graduated, I went to their job placement department. What did they do for me? Give me a book of radio stations and a quiet place to start calling them.

I was so incensed. I did all the work. I found my own job. So I went on my way, had to get out of the field for a short time.

Wanted to get back in a couple of years later. Never a call back, no email, no letter…nothing. They got their money and I got to put I have an associates degree on my resume. So much debt, a stinging reminder of how I was messed over. You can call us toll free at Best of luck and hope to hear from you today! What a farce. Can we start a class action lawsuit? Hi I attended Sanford Brown and can not find a job in my field as a medical coder.

And I have an outstanding loan balance. The problem is most colleges do background checks when you are going into the medical field which they did not and because I have an background no hospital will hire me.

What can I do? Could you maybe clarify? I happened to stumble across your name today in our system and when I saw your name here in our comments as well, I knew you sounded familiar! Your designated Student Loan Counselor, Cleveland Matthews, tried to contact you earlier this morning to discuss your student loan situation with you and see how we can help you.

Go ahead and give him a call back on his direct phone number, Cleveland is one of the best and will work hard to get you what you need for student loan relief. I graduated Sanford Brown Houston in needless to say we had to fight to get our graduation because our campus was going to start closing.

Another question I was made to believe that we could also test for the phlebotomy of which I wanted to do but as it was I had to fight to get them to pay my RMA testing, I went into SB wanting to do ultrasound but was told it required me to do 6 months in Medical Assisting I graduated Medical Assistant but was never offered to do the ultrasound I originally wanted, I still have all the paperwork of the program and slot of it I did not get.

I attended classes for Medical Assisting. I went into this field cause I have always wanted to be in the nursing field. I feel as though this school was a complete disaster in every way possible. Now we will surely be in debt for the rest of our lives and our families suffer too.

I would like to know what my choices are because in all honesty I can not afford this loan repayment at all. I would like to go back to school for something more worth my time and money and this mistake is a burden in every way possible. I need to move away from this so I can push forward for me and my children. Straight to the point Sanford Brown got over. I had to pay out of pocket and get loans. I am an alumni from Sanford Brown located in Florida in Career services never helped me.

What will this do for my Medical Assistance Diploma? Also I paid with my money out of pocket and loans. This is very discouraging and hurtful that they will play with people lives and money like this.

Thanks for your input. You have some pretty eye-opening and excellent points to share! Give us a call toll free at Hope to hear from you soon! Katie Bentley kbentley usstudentloancenter. I totally agree they should drop all student loans. They did a horrible job placing students when it came to job placements. I was one who did not get place and It took me almost a year to find a job and I had to set up an payment arrangement with the student loan people. I Graduated with High Honors a 4.

I have paid some of my loan back but due to no help from the school getting a job and not finding a job in the medical field, I had to put my loans in deferment twice already. When I graduated the school called me one time and send they sent out my resume to ONE place. After that I never heard from them again, and all the resumes I sent out and jobs i applied for have said Sanford Brown is not accredited school, which they said they were when I started there.

Is there any help I can get regarding this matter? Ashley, we help students like yourself who have felt lied to and who have ended up stuck with student loans find a way to help you manage or get out of your student loan debt easier and faster, even if you are having trouble finding a job and even if you have already had your loans in deferment more than once or couple times. As you may know, deferments are meant to be a temporary fix to a problem and if a borrower uses a deferment as more than that, you could be doing more damage than good!

So find out sooner rather than later how you may be able to get help or get rid of your loans by reaching out to Dawn by phone or her email at dwolff usstudentloancenter.

Its Gibbs all over again. I attended Gibbs later merged with Sanford Brown in and it ended up closing. So many students were upset that it was closing and then the bomb dropped about them not being accredited.

The school was like a ghost town after those announcements. To this day I wonder why I even went to Gibbs. My spirit was broken for a while. It really sucks that I have to redo all the classes because the credits I earned are garbage. I hope someone files a class action Lawsuit someday. This campus was plagued with problems for the duration if my course and beyond.

Subsequently closing. I was promised Jo placement assistance, career advice, told as a grad I could attend any campus anytime for a refers of the MBC course at no cost.

They gave me nothing but grief the entire time I attended. I was pulled aside and told to keep my mouth shut about problems with the N Loop Campus and problems I had signing on to the college campus. Both sites promised job placement assistance and never followed thru. In fact the instructor for the MBC course who was the chair for the program never responded to e mails sent by me.

In fact I had to miss class 2 times, once due to work, once due to severe weather. She responded the second time saying I was dropped from the class because of attendance issues.

No one at the campus would respond to my request for information or assistance with Jo search or placement assistance. What options do I have? Based on the information you have told me so far, it sounds like you could see some serious relief from that loan you are stuck with. She has specialized in this area for many years and she can go over your options in full detail in mere minutes with you.

It could be well worth a few moments of your time! Please reach out to her directly at or dwolff usstudentloancenter. Thank you!! I attended sbc in collinsville il.

It closed in jan I graduated in aug from the mbc program. I excelled highly. Went on several job leads and interviews. For many, an outstanding student loan balance can hinder them from pursuing more school. We would need to collect a few more bits of information to understand how we could help you but based on what you have told me so far, I believe that there is help for you.

I think either one would be a great fit for you to speak with for a few moments to go over your some options you might find helpful. You can reach them at the following: Jaina Johnson- Direct: Dawn Wolff- Direct: I too, went to Collinsville, I graduated in I never heard from the school again.

Not for job leads, interviews. Is there an option still for me as well? We can help you with the federal student loans you may have acquired while attending Collinsville. Please reach out to Student Loan Counselor, Dawn Wolff at to speak to her about how you may be able to get help, as there are several different options for people that are in the same situation as you.

The campus closed a few years later. I have used every avenue available to get my transcript and have been told by the corporate office that they have no record of a campus in North Kansas City. I guess that several thousand other people and I must have been having the same hallucination of having gone to class every day for 18 months. My opinion: this overpriced scam should have been shut down years ago.

I now am in the process of trying to obtain proof of accreditation. If your loans are taken out through a U. Department of Education approved loan servicer, there is hope for international students who have federal student loans. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your situation in full detail and to start getting help with your federal student loans today. Contact a Federal Student Loan Counselor toll free at or please feel free to email us your contact information so we can have a counselor reach out to you.

Thank you! We are not affiliated with Sanford-Brown or any other educational college or institution. Please contact the school to collect this information. The sad thing is all these students that attended SBC have or has the same issue. They sent everyone job leads through an email that had students from the surrounding areas attached.

My degree that I earned from them is almost entirely worthless and when I went back to school to get my nursing degree, I learned that not one of the credits transferred and I ended up having to pay to take the same classes all over again. I too think that all outstanding debt from these schools should be wiped out simply due to the fact that they misrepresented themselves and grossly over charged! Oh yeah, and I had a 4. I now tutor nursing students in their pre-req courses.

He had a very hard time finding a job, but he got one that pays less than what I make. We are barely making it now!! One of my instructors was a chef by trade. She was teaching pharmacology. She did not know anything about the course. When we would ask her a question, she would tell us to just Google it!! Very sad that I am drowning in student loan debt to make less than 15 an hour! I agree completely.

I graduated in Hazelwood, no help finding a job, they gave us open book tests. I typed one paper double spaced and got an A, next guy to me, wrote in his in pencil, half a paragraph and got an A too, this school was a joke. I took an accounting test at a job interview and failed it but I got a 3.

A big joke! Reading most of these comments, I am reminded of the entitlement attitude that we face today. I enrolled in SBI in Woodbridge with a newborn, took the night classes, worked hard to study, and graduated with an almost 4. Graduated in I had two job offers before finishing my externship.

I am still at the job I chose, I work in an urgent care facility and have learned a tremendous amount from being there. I am now enrolling in a RN program at a community college. These programs are what YOU make of them. They are NOT obligated to find you a job. It is your job to act in a way that an employer finds you desirable. It is YOUR responsibility to learn! I am thrilled I have the education I do and I worked Damn hard for it! Took both of my certification programs which is why I am where I am!

But then I wonder, why are they expecting the school to find them a job? I hope I have an experience like yours. Unfortunately the closing of the school does not mean that you are free from paying your student loans back. Students and graduates of the Sanford- Brown community will still be responsible for paying back any federal students loans that they acquired while attending the school.

There are several government repayment programs that can help you pay your loans. Please contact us if you feel you need help with your loans at What am I supposed to do? I previously graduated SBC Cleveland in for.

MA I found a job as a phlebotomist which I love! I went back to SBC for the CVS program in and after 2 months was told about the teach out they were doing…the teacher that actually taught the sonogram part the class along with other classes quit because she had to find another job and the program director took over as the teacher…he was terrible and very unprofessional! So on top of not getting a good education I am now in major debt. I feel betrayed by the school with their lack of compassion for the students.

I feel so sorry for anyone else who was put in my position and now I have to repay money that was pretty much taken from me. I am swimming in debt from my ms program and I am on fmla from the associate degree program and did not know about them closing so will I not get to finish school now and still have all the debt to pay with no job. I graduated from sandford brown in I am surprised they are closing.

School was expensive and I still them probably 12, They sent me on one bad externship , but the second one was great. At the end of the day I found my job myself.

YOU have. Sandford Brown I paid nothing out of pocket and I am now working as a medical assistant. The career advisers are a joke. They are salesman pushing numbers. I also have had the most difficult time getting my transcripts. This is very sad, how much money I now have to pay back for absolutely nothing. I went to Sanford brown in I used the money from my trustfund that was raised for me when I had cancer at a young age.

Little did I know that letting the school know my medical history was my biggest mistake because they kicked me out because of it. Need help on my loans from Sanford-Brown! Can some of them be forgiven. No job! Just need to know some information! Brenda, please reach out to us to go over your situation in detail. There is help and potential forgiveness on federal loans that we would love to discuss with you. You can reach out to a student loan counselor toll free at Look forward to hearing from you!

My instructors were awesome and always there. I went to an allied health office for my internship and was able to use everything I learned. I was truly Blessed. I must say I keep in touch with a lot of my classmates and they have also been successful with medical asst positions. For me it was a fabulous experience. Nakia thats great! I was so close. I had four months to graduate. My father passes away in Florida. I had to leave for a week to bury my father. I asked permission they said it was alright.

Do what I have to do. When I got back they tell me about the all or none law they have. They told me I had to start from the beginning again.

So after almost a year in a half of study they wanted me to start from scratch. You could image how hurt I was. I just left it at that. Nothing I could do. I was a private school with its own rules. Nothing could be done. These students also have access to the Pegasus Lectures for their continuing education.
