How does maschine work with logic

You are not missing anything other than adding complexity. Sometimes when you try to force a product to do everything and have it all you wind up taking the workflow backward instead of forward.

Use each for it's strengths and except that there will always be limitations or some things you will have to live without. For instance the Logic instruments. Just use 3rd party synths and instruments instead.

Alchemy was a VST first and there are others like Falcon that are even better imo. If you like sequencing with Maschine already then just stick with that and maximize it with instruments that are compatible instead of worrying about those few instruments that are locked inside of Logic. Messages: 5, Like x 1. Messages: 2, But when I see something like this I'm always wondering, why anyone is specifically using Maschine.

Something like Battery with a cheap MPD should do the trick, too. To me such a setup with Maschine in its current state seems to be quite convoluted and people might be losing most of its hardware workflow if, for instance, effect plug-ins are used in the Logic.

It makes things more complicated and production processes in general are aiming to making things easier in the course of the work and not more difficult e. To mix kits and drum sounds, I'd stay in Maschine and only output audio, that could be recorded in Logic or you could freeze the Maschine instance, if you'd need more CPU power. As I assume that you can't use Logic's plug-ins in Maschine, just use them in Logic alongside the Maschine plug-in s.

To give you a more detailed impression about this workflow, please have a look at some ideas I wrote about in this thread.
